A diesel engine cylinder injection system, the valve-controlled fuel injection pump of which comprises a pump cylinder (1) with a reciprocable plunger (9), an inlet valve (3) and a by-pass valve (4). A control lever (15) for operating the inlet valve 3 is pivotable by the plunger 9 about an adjustable pivot 22. An actuator arrangement is provided which sets the pump operation to a start condition and, after expiry of a predetermined start condition time, changes it over to normal operation. The timing at which delivery begins depends on the position of the pivot 22 which is different for start and normal running conditions. A rocking lever (24) connected to a shaft (23) on which the pivot 22 is eccentrically carried is movable by an actuator device 25 between a normal operation position (24N), equivalent to a normal operation delivery beginning, and a start condition position (24S) equivalent to a start condition delivery beginning. A means (26) is also provided for adjustment of the start condition position (24S), together with means (27) for adjusting the normal operation position (24N) of the rocking lever (24). A control system (28) for the actuating device (25) delivers control signals (SA, SR) and a timing device (29) monitors the time of the start condition and triggers the return signal (SR) after expiry of such time are also provided. <IMAGE>

The pump includes a housing L placed in it a plunger 2, suction 3 and bypass k valves, a camshaft 5, a drive mechanism 6 for transmitting movement from the camshaft 5 | and a plunger 2 and a control lever 7 for connecting the suction valve 3 to the drive mechanism 6.
The pump is additionally equipped with a switching device for adjustment to the starting and normal modes of operation, including the eccentric shaft 8 for supporting the control lever 7 and the rotary lever 9 rigidly connected to the eccentric shaft 8 and connected to the latter through an executive mechanism with a suitable adaptation 10 equipped with a time meter 1t. The actuator is designed in the form of a cylinder 12 with a piston 13. A connected thrust with a pivot arm 9 and a control device 10 is provided with an abutment 15 to restrict the stroke of the piston 13 when it is moved from the starting position to the normal position and back.
The time meter 11 is made in the form of an adjustable throttle. The control device 10 is equipped with a starting member 16 and a control valve 17, BwncOTHeHrasiM, which can be moved from the normal position to the starting position and starting the unit 16. Time meter 11 is equipped with a device 8 for controlling the duration of the starting mode. To control the bypass valve k, the pump is equipped with an e-eccentric shaft 19 and actuator mechanism with matching blocks 20 and 21), the first of which is for adjusting the position of the normal mode and the second for starting mode.
The pump works as follows
